POSITION: Marine Surveyor

DUTIES: Responsibilities include: providing dynamic positioning and maritime operational expertise and marine surveying; attending vessels and/or shipyards to conduct vessel assurance audits and inspections, suitability surveys for vessels and project equipment, on/off-hire surveys, CMIDs, OVID inspections and witness failure and operational testing of dynamic positioning systems and project equipment; conducting marine warranty surveying guidance for marine projects based upon the most current marine industry standards, relevant classification maritime society rules and US Coast Guard regulations; project document review, onsite and offshore site attendance to review operations such as heavy lifts, loadouts and sailaways, rigmove operations and offshore installations.
REQUIREMENTS: Eight years of experience in the job offered or eight years of experience in the marine/offshore oil and gas sector and commercial shipping industry; high-risk offshore drilling operations, dynamic positioning/power management systems, blowout preventive equipment and offshore construction (heavy-lift or subsea installation) operations; knowledge of international maritime codes, rules and regulations.

We are currently recruiting an experienced Dynamic Positioning & Marine Operations Consultant for our Barra da Tijuca, RJ, Brasil office.
Day-to-Day activities will be to provide maritime operational expertise and consultancy to a variety of clients for projects ranging from Failure Mode Effect Analysis of Dynamically Positioned vessels to Marine Warranty Surveying and Operational Activity Planning both onshore and offshore.
Provide Dynamic Positioning & Maritime Operational Expertise and Consultancy as required. This will be local or international as requested.
Attend vessels (MODUs, Dive Support Vessels, OSVs, Pipelay Vessels, Tankers, Seismic Survey Vessels, etc.) and/or shipyards to conduct vessel assurance audits & inspections, suitability surveys for vessels & project equipment, on/off-hire surveys, CMIDs, OVID inspections and witness failure & operational testing of dynamic positioning systems & project equipment.
Provide Marine Warranty Surveying guidance to various marine projects based on the most current marine industry standards and relevant classification society rules. This will include project document review, onsite and offshore site attendances for operations such as heavy lifts, loadouts and sailaways, rig move operations and offshore installations.
Take an active role in all project management phases of work within the business unit which include completion of proposals, development and submittal of client deliverables, adherence to all QHSE standards, and liaising with finance team.
